ACTRESS & CLOWN

I fell in love with the philosophy behind the mask.

First brazilian female clown in the Cirque du Soleil

On the stage and in life, I have learned to flow like water. More than just an actress or a clown, my main artistic skill is my ability to adapt. I listen carefully to everything around me and deliver not what I want to deliver, but what needs to be delivered. I serve the stage, always trying to see the whole beyond myself. Just like water running freely down the river or resting in a lake, I shape myself into each different character I perform, without losing touch with who I am. I can be a tsunami. Or a single waterdrop.

At this point in my career, I no longer worry about separating the actress from the clown. The clown widens the craft of acting and the acting fuels the Universe of the clown. I’m a performer and as such, I use of both techniques to reach the heart of a the character I’m creating.

My story can’t be told linearly. Everything in it is interwoven. That’s why I refuse to fit into one box to choose one way to express myself or another. Clowns say I’m not a clown. Actors say I’m not an actress. Nevertheless, here I am, doing things my way and living off of my craft since 1995. Because the audience doesn’t care about titles.

The audience wants to believe in the performer, no matter which technique is used to express a character truthfully.

ESPETACULOS
As an artist, I serve the stage.

I can be a tsunami.

I can be a single waterdrop.
